November 2014

We aren't potty training yet, but she looks awfully comfortable there - maybe we should be?

Grandma came to visit and we drove up to the city for the Renegade Craft Fair. We were almost thwarted by the parking situation, but in the end our patience paid off - we got a great spot and found some cool things and enjoyed a beautiful day at Fort Mason :)

Jo's love of accessories continues unabated. Daddy bought these for a costume and Jo claimed them for her own.

Fun with Grandpa.

3-day weekends always take me by surprise. I never have the Monday off, but daycare is always closed. We took the opportunity to visit the playground of the nearby elementary school to play some soccer...

Test out the slides...

We even found a ball left behind for twice the ball playing fun.

I bought Teddy a new winter jacket, but he refused to try it on.
Luckily I found another willing model.

We joined my college friends Patti, Meg and Mattias (and families) for a Stanford tailgate.
First line of defense against kid boredom: snacks.
Second: crayons and stickers.

This girl loves her some snacks.

We flew down to San Diego on Thanksgiving morning.
The airport was quiet, everyone had all their gear, all was right with the world.

Ready for takeoff!

We discovered that Home Depot has the best shopping carts around!

In case you hadn't heard, we're having a bit of a dry spell here in California.
There was a big storm headed our way and they gave us the day off work to hunker down.
As you can see, it was none too impressive in our neck of the woods. But the kids loved the excuse to wear their rain gear.

October 2014

Let's see...October. It's March now, so my memory is fuzzy. Maybe the pictures will help me remember what happened...

Daddy and Jo silliness. She's got a bit of a shiner in this picture, not sure why.

I don't know why this old Captain America costume came out, maybe in preparation for Halloween?
Anyhow, she loved it.

Every weekday morning we get the kids up at 6:15 (ok, so it's mostly Brian), dressed, teeth brushed, cup of milk, then they watch a cartoon while Mom and Dad get ready. Everyone in the car and off to our respective offices by 7:15. This must be somewhere in the 6:50 range. It's never too early in the day for Jo to be an adorable goofball.

Daddy made custom Halloween window decorations this year and Teddy helped him draw them.

Teddy got a bizarre 6 hour stomach bug. Here he is with his trusty bowl watching a cartoon. If I had to guess what he picked to watch, I'd say Blaze and the Monster Machines. Or maybe Mighty Machines.

He perked up the next day in time for pumpkin picking at Webb Ranch.
Jo loves this sweater. She'll go to her dresser and pull it out of the bottom drawer and bring it to one of us and say, "SWEATER!" until you put it on her. Even now, in March, she likes to carry it around even though it's much too small to wear.
You can see on Teddy's forearms the stamps he gets at the end of music class on Saturday mornings.
They must use a permanent ink stamp pad, because they practically last until the next Saturday even though he bathes every night.

Me saying, "Teddy, hug your sister." Teddy thinking, "Ok, whatever, Mom." Jo thinking, "Squirrel!"

We set the kids loose in the pumpkin patch and told them to pick one. Teddy cruised past all the other pumpkins until he found this cool green striped one in the far corner.

We took the tractor ride through the corn fields where we got to pick our own corn again.

The Saturday before Halloween we dressed the kids up in their costumes and took the Caltrain to Burlingame for the Halloween parade. Turns out the parade was on Sunday. Oops. They got many compliments on their costumes anyway and we got some errands done, so it all worked out.

Jo was a golfer.

Teddy was a dinosaur. He was quite particular about his costume this year. He told us a few months in advance he wanted to be a yellow triceratops. I could not find such a costume, so I showed him some options online and he okayed this one. He was very clear he wanted to be a friendly dinosaur, not a scary one.

The artist contemplating his canvas.

Jo helping me scoop out pumpkin guts.

Trick or treating with Kylie and Paige. Teddy was just as excited this year as he was last year. As he left every house he shouted to us, "I got MORE candy!!!" Really, every single house. It was so cute. He carried both his basket and Jo's and he collected for the both of them at every house since Jo couldn't keep up. She tried her darnedest, though, and ended up double dipping at many houses as she straggled behind the bigger kids.
Next year Teddy informs us that he will be a snake for Halloween. Stay tuned.

September 2014

Another bad month for photography. Our good camera bit the dust, so here are the only decent iPhone pictures from September.

Saturday mornings often mean a ride to the donut store (aka 7-Eleven). Teddy gets chocolate, Jo gets glazed. Daddy gets 2 granola bars and gets to eat about 1/4 of one after the scavengers get their way.

Morning cartoon zombies.
