Teddy the Crooner!!! ABC's After Dark...
Teddy's debut album drops early next year, but here's a sneak peek at the music video. It's so sneaky that it's completely in the dark!!! Actually, not much lighting in the studio/dad's black car at night. Enjoy! Get it on iTunes soon!

Cal Academy
At the end of August, we joined the California Academy of Sciences. We headed straight for the aquarium downstairs and Teddy's reaction was absolutely priceless. He ran up to the wall of fish and jumped up and down, ran back and forth and tried to point out each and every fish. He could have sat there for an hour, I bet.
Oooooohhh...
Even Jo was mesmerized in the tunnel.
Oh, yes, Dump Truck got in on the action, too.
We've been back another time since then and the enthusiasm was unabated.
I'm betting we'll be there a lot in the coming months.
Teething and Rolling
Drool + red little cheeks = teeth
Jo's first tooth cut in on August 5th, followed by it's little bottom row neighbor 1 week later.
Much to her own surprise, Jo began rolling all over the place this month.
I had left her in the middle of the rug, only to be summoned back by her distress call when she wedged herself under the bookshelf. Can crawling be far off?
Cabin time
In August, we snuck in a week at the cabin.
Teddy got ferried around on the new ride-on-top kayaks.
Jo got to spend some quality time with Sarah, the best baby-holder on the East Shore.
We had fun with foam noodles.
Relaxed on the deck.
Apparently, it was pants-optional.
We snuggled and indulged in some general laziness.
Mama and Grandpa went fishing on Windigo.
It was the end. of. the. world.
We overlapped with Jessie and Nate the last few days which was so much fun.
Grandpa had lots of fun with his boys.
I'm pretty sure the fun was mutual.
Jo got in on the troublemaking, too.
"What, we have to go home? We won't be back until next year?"
That's pretty much how we all felt.
July
At the end of June, I went back to work and Jo started joining Teddy at daycare. For the first few weeks, when I'd pick them up at the end of the day, Teddy would take extra special care to make sure we didn't leave Jo behind. Thanks to him, we're batting 1000 on remembering to come home with 2 kids every day.
Here she is on her first day.
This month, she learned to grab her toes.
She has also started to grab for Teddy's toys, thus beginning a lifelong cycle of "this is mine, that is yours." Or as it currently goes in our house, "this is mine and that is mine, too."
Teddy is still testing out all the baby equipment for safety.
We've read some of his books so many times, he's able to "read aloud" to himself from memory. Thor has been in heavy rotation for a few months now.
Teddy's car/truck/train collection seems to grow larger everyday and trust me, he has a constant inventory in his head of where each one is at all times. Possible locations: in his bed, in the wagon, in the backyard dirt, in Daddy's black car, in the shower, in the trunk of his Batmobile, in the mailbox, in Daddy's pocket.
Still such a happy little bird.

Video Catch up... a little Mamba Dancing and Dump Truck Pushing
It's been a while and there's a lot to catch up on, but here's a couple videos just for fun.
Momma showed today some of her "mamba" moves to entertain "Tootie" one day, and Teddy can't stop dancing for her. Josie loves her big brother so much that she too wants to show off her moves too... just in in her bouncy chair for now at least. Daddy is already trying to choreograph a break dancing routine for their first talent show. Watch out!!!
We had such an amazing time at the lake this past August, but Teddy was working the whole time!!! We think he was inspired by a certain book we only read a few hundred times called "Roadwork".
Straight from bed and in his jammies, someone had to make sure his dump truck moved dirt from one side of the yard to the other!!! And in between he was swatting those pesky flies. That's what I call dedication.

Jo at 4 months
Josephine will be 4 months old on Saturday.
I go back to work on Monday and I'm going to miss my special time with my baby girl. She's turning out to be such a sweetie: cheerful, calm and already pretty comfortable in this new world.
Exploratorium
We went to the new Exploratorium on Pier 15 the other day and Teddy had a blast running around inspecting all the exhibits. I was only able to get these photos of him because they involved him actually sitting down.
Weekend in Healdsburg
We spent last weekend in Healdsburg where we celebrated the wedding of Brian's co-worker and friend, Erwin, to the beautiful Macy.
We arrived on Friday afternoon, past Teddy's normal nap time, so as Brian headed out to the rehearsal, I tucked the Pack and Play behind a wall, turned out the lights and took Jo out in the hallway for 20 minutes so he couldn't see us, hoping he'd go down. It was not to be. I came back in and found he'd ejected everything from the crib and then proceeded to empty the built-in tissue dispenser, as well.
We had fun at the hotel, goofing around in bed...
...and hanging at the pool.
We got in the unheated pool at first, but ended up preferring the not-so-hot tub.
"Look at my perfect, tiny feet!"
One handsome bunch, if I do say so myself.
The wedding site was a beautiful spot out in the country and they had a couple old train cars, which Teddy insisted on inspecting right away.
Party People
Capmmmerca!!
Daddy reads to Teddy about superheroes at bedtime every night and while he can pretty much name all of them, Captain America has proven to be his favorite. Or as Teddy calls him "Capmmmerca!!"
Cousin Paige was so nice to let Teddy have her old costume. It was already a warm day and he wore it over another pair of pants and a shirt. Trust me, it was sweaty under there, but he wouldn't take it off.
The party comes home
We traveled back to SFO together for Jo's baptism and Teddy's birthday party.
It was nice having Grandma and Grandpa Amberg around for a few days, I certainly got to nap a little more than usual :)
Learning about trains...
"Cheeeeese!!!!"
Sleepy time with Grandma
The baptism was lovely. Father Martin, the same priest that baptized Teddy, did the honors for Jo, too. She wore the same gown that Teddy and Nate did, handed down from her Amberg Great Aunts and Uncles.
Uncle Ben and Aunt Jessie graciously accepted the role of godparents.
Such a blessing to have all our family there with us.
Afterwards, we headed over to a local Italian restaurant to celebrate the baptism and Teddy's birthday. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wash a single dish.
Can you pick up on the train theme?
San Diego bound
In May, we were scheduled for a trip down to San Diego centered around cousin Molly's bridal shower. A Friday afternoon onset of mastitis and a trip to the emergency room forced us to miss the party :( but we forged ahead and flew down the next afternoon!
It was Josie's first flight and she was a champ - hardly a squawk from her. It seems like by the time he was 3 months, Teddy had been on lots of flights, but Jo will catch up this summer. We've got a trip to Madison for the wedding scheduled in a couple weeks, followed by our cabin time at the end of July. Now that Teddy's 2, we have to buy him a seat so we've got him racking up frequent flyer miles already. Won't be long till he's earned himself a free flight, I'm sure :)
In San Diego, we took in a Padres game. Jessie and I had our matching Ergo carriers on and someone asked if we were twins :)
"Who's at bat? I can't see anything from here!"
Teddy rode bikes several times with Grandpa and Aunt Jessie. The helmet was a big hit and stayed on for several hours after each ride.
We also went to see cousins Matthew and Jacob play baseball, where Grandpa took this glamour shot.
